Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of My Places , including the application and the website at https://places.marcusfan.dev. By using My Places, you agree to these Terms.
1. What My Places is
My Places helps caregivers and family members assist their loved ones in getting to places they need or want to be — safely. Features may include Google Sign-In for account access, Google Places for destination lookup, and Google Calendar integration limited to creating, editing, and deleting events in a single calendar you connect for My Places.
2. Eligibility and responsibility
You must be able to form a binding agreement to use My Places. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, for how you use caregiving features, and for complying with applicable laws. My Places is a coordination aid — it does not provide medical advice, emergency services, or professional caregiving certification.
3. Accounts and Google permissions
Certain features require signing in with Google and granting permissions. You are responsible for maintaining control of your Google Account and for reviewing the scopes you authorize. You may revoke My Places’s access at any time through your Google Account permissions settings.
Profile photos associated with Google Sign-In are not used, displayed, or stored by My Places. Calendar access is limited to the single calendar used with My Places features.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use My Places for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Misrepresent your identity or relationship to another person in a way that causes harm
- Use Google user data obtained through My Places except as allowed by these Terms and our Privacy Policy
5. Third-party services
My Places relies on third-party services such as Google Sign-In, Google Calendar, and Google Places. Those services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for outages, changes, or policies of third-party providers.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we access, use, store, and share information, including Google user data. By using My Places, you also acknowledge that policy.
7. Intellectual property
My Places, including its branding, design, and software, is owned by Marcus Fan or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the service except as expressly allowed.
8. Disclaimers
My Places is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that destination, calendar, or place information will always be complete or accurate.
Always use independent judgment for caregiving and safety decisions. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Places and Marcus Fan will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to My Places will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD $50, if you have not paid us.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms or modify/discontinue features of My Places. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if needed to protect users or the service. You may stop using My Places at any time.
